Michael Hackney combined a passion of off road adventure and rock collecting with the fascination of photography and particularly micro photography.
While on his many adventures over the last 25 years he began to collect rock specimens from the deserts of Nevada, Arizona, California and Utah. Upon viewing the different collected rocks with a magnifying glass and a loop he discovered there is a lot to see beyond the naked eye. This in turn led to using microscopes of up to 500 power to bring into view a whole new world never seen before.
Rock Art by Michael was formed as a means of displaying and presenting his work to the public so they too can experience the inner world of rocks.
